before existing health coverage?

I just received notification that my insurance premium will increase dramatically in 2009. I am self-employed, so I'm not part of a group plan. ive checked on the web quotes to compare with the higher rate. if i switch the plans I can save $ 175 per month. the problem is that I have a preexisting condition, a decade ago I broken leg in a car accident. to repair the fracture of the doctor put a long piece of metal in the center of the bone. its still there. I guess it is considered a pre-existing condition. supplementary schemes are available to cover only this condition? if so are they affordable? their offer? any info or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Most health plans do not ask what medical conditions you are see a doctor today and what procedures have you had in the past five years. Since the transaction was ten years ago you should be fine. Apply to any company you want, but are not voluntarily to them, unless there is a specific question about it. You have 30 days to review the plan you are given and if there is something on a disqualification because of this or terminate the contract rider. No mention not specifically the orthopedist who did the procedure and we hope that if you talk to your doctor they will help you in this.
