Why is it that you have to Liability insurance on each car you own?

Right now, if you own 3 cars, each has to have liability insurance, makes not sense at all when you can only drive one at a time. Why not just insure the individual?

It is all to do with money, for the insurance companies. If only one vehicle is insured, someone else could legally drive the other two since they are covered. If you want ownership for any number of vehicles, you need to insure each one.

if the car is stolen, it is being operated.
if the thief drives it into some poor sap, you get sued because its your car.
you are liable because you negligently let it get stolen, right?
cars are an “Attractive nuisance”; same cataeogry as a swimming pool, in a way. they invite unautorized use.
