Question by cowgirlsluvspots: what's the best and cheapest liability insurance for someone who wants to teach horseback riding lessons?
I'm going to start teaching horseback riding lessons and need to know what the best, but also the cheapest liability insurance, so I can teach at local arenas and barns.

Check with your insurance agent for your car and house. An independent agent can find policies and shop around for you.

I always got mine through one of the barns liability insurance as an add on, and paid the barn owner for the extra cost. It takes a very special person to do that of course, because if you have a claim, it would raise the whole farm's costs.....

add--Doesn't being a member of the national organization USEF have liability insurance as part of their benefits? They would certainly know what companies offer insurance. http://www.usef.org/

You would have to be a member as a professional since you would make part or all of your income from horses, but that's no big deal. http://www.usef.org/_IFrames/memberservices/memberPerks.aspx
