What to do when no private insurance accepts you and ASCAP Musician insurance isn’t comprehensive?
Question by 1: What to do when no private insurance accepts you and ASCAP Musician insurance isn't comprehensive?
How to get health insurance when you're self-employed musician but suffered years of depressions and anxiety before? It seems no private comprehensive insurance will accept me and the rare ones are extremely expensive. What do people do? You can't lie about your past illness in past years or it could come back t haunt you.
I saw ASCAP offered a limited insurance but what do you do?

You're not going to get low risk priced insurance, when you're high risk. It's just not realistic, on an individual policy.
People either pay the high risk price; go uninsured; or take a part time job where they can access group health coverage through that employer; or get added to their spouse's group insurer through their work.
Limited insurance is SO limited, it's worth crap.

Option 1:
First, if you have not already done so, you apply for the private insurance that will not accept you and you get rejected for it.
Next, after being rejected for the private insurance, you apply for the government program in your state that offers insurance to anyone living in your state who has been rejected for private insurance because of a history of past illnesses.
Option 2:
Instead of relying solely on self-employment for income, you get a job as an employee of an employer who offers comprehensive health insurance.
