What does general liability insurance mean?

Question by Natalie Brooks: What does general liability insurance mean?
I got an offer from one insurance agency but I'm not sure if I should keep looking, different agencies offer different 'general liability' policies or is it all the same?

For Auto Insurance, it means you are covered to drive with the state requirements to drive. They do not, however, repair YOUR car if damage occurs.

It means they will cover you for damage or injuries you cause or are Liable for to others. If you damage another's property or injure someone else, are are liable or responsible, you are covered.

It makes sense to buy liability coverage on cars that are over 10 years old, or are worth less than $ 3000, or if you cannot afford full coverage.

Good Luck!

  1. You need to ask your agency exactly which coverages there are.

It protects you (or your business) if someone sues you over something that’s covered.

Yes, different companies can have different forms.
