unlicensed contractor catastrophe part 2
This homeowner had a shower remodeled by an unlicensed contractor. The unlicensed contractor (herein known as the hack) insisted on doing the shower pan himself. Because he did not install the pan correctly the house suffered major water damage and the shower will have to be torn out and redone. Think twice before hiring an unlicensed contractor. Just because someone has an occupational license, that doesnt mean they are a licensed contractor in Florida. They must have a license that says certified (blank) contractor or registered (blank) contractor. If they cant produce said license they are not a licensed contractor. You should also demand to have a copy of their certificate of general liability insurance. All licensed Florida contractors must by law, carry general liability insurance as well as property damage insurance. I am a licensed painting contractor in Central West Florida. The crappiest work is being done here by unlicensed “handymen” and unlicensed contractors. Paint coming apart from masonry after one year; low-grade paint substitution, no worker’s comp; over-spraying people’s cars and then denying it; peeling paint on metal window frames (no proper prep work).
My house, which I painted, always looks brand new. My neighbor hired on the cheap and got 1 year’s worth of a good-looking home. I get 10.

Did you offer the owner of the house an option to seal? Which would be way more cost efficient for the owner and very easy to observe , considering the leak is right above the the light fixture in the entrance? The owner deserves to get ripped for allowing a sex offender in there house shave your mustache makes you look like a weirdo!

. . . . . . I own several residential and commercial properties 22 to be exact. . . I have dealt with electricians and plumbers over the years and have met all slab leaks blown fires. . . . when its my dime to find a solution or repair of his right is the cost. . . about other people hand rake over the coals and the owners abuse their lack of knowledge in prayer on their vulnerability to money. . . . . Nice try but not here. . . . stopping the extraction of people off and push a pair.

I think it’s funny how you pass judgment about a job that you know nothing about other than what you have seen in this video.
Yes, I could have lapped welded a patch in over the flange area only. That would not be wise though considering the guy who did the pan was an idiot. If he didn’t install the clamp ring on the pan, who’s to say that anything else was done right (and BTW it wasn’t).
Based on your general tone I would peg you as an unlicensed contractor as well who is jealous.

Hey Ken, rent a camera man with the money you steal the owners next time. . . BTW, you can seal the floor without busting the whole region. . . . . a real man knows tile. . . . turds sink to drive. . . . plumbers you’re all alike. . . . .
