Toxic Mold: My contractor ultimately killed me.

How a contractor took advantage of a family in Stratford, WI. His faulty workmanship lead to toxic mold, deadly bacteria and huge amounts of property damage. This story is also about laws that have to be changed, the insurance industry coverage flaws and the ill health affects caused by all the unseen damages. At no time was the contractor ever held responsible and or accountable in any way. He had nothing but total disrespect and disregard of the building guidelines and his profession. He purposely ignored installation guidelines and building codes with never receiving any consequences! If our legal system never holds him accoutable...why would he stop his unethical tactics that make him profit? The Legal System, Insurance Companies and Building Associations not only fell short in our case, they failed to follow up looking into other work he did, more or less covering it up! They fear that there are others like us and it would open a Pandora's Box! What if other families are out there being exposed to "who knows what"? Let's change the law to protect the injured and vulnerable parties. If the laws were changed, at the very least, let's put the criminal behind bars and hold them responsible for full monetary restitution and damages caused by their negligence. If they refuse to do their job right, let's put them out of business! The law requires Continuing Education in other professions to protect and insure others' "safety, rights and lives." That would be "Doing What's ...

  1. Today’s Homes are built for for tomorrow’s “landfills” – a nice word for dumps. These type houses are constructed the same as fast food – with materials used in the construction of trailers.
    - Tin, Chipboard, Plastic, & Foam,
put ‘em together & what have you got,
somethin’ that you can call – Home?
Far more protections govern the construction of a child’s toy, the ingredients in Fruit Loops, & the construction of a vehicle – The Toyota recall.
    - A Home Builder recall. . . Never.

  2. This has happened to our famille.Nous Builder.Toyota our name is known for their failures and their actions, and, home builders should be known for their failures and responsables.L inhumanity of Home Builders is shocking, like the wreckage of the man they left behind. . . words manquent.La gluttony, greed, and Sloth, three clear of the Seven Deadly Sins, I see associated with home builders, again, I doubt pas.Il is heartening to see the expression of humanity in the comments!

  5. J' took a réel intérêt for the science of bâtiment since 2001 and your points are good, but the majority can être corrigées, for example, a système d' échange d' air installés would help à to prévenir the wet problèmes intérieures.Cependant, which you can do when l' contractor refuses to follow l' installation of the lines of guild and the codes of bâtiment? It n' do not exist laws places from there in Wisconsin to punish l' attacker, it does not matter how much damage à the propriété and the wounds qu' it has causé. The laws would owe être modifiées for protéger the manufacturers of houses future.

  6. The qualité of those of work in n' import which discipline is a question of morals and d' éthique, and carpenter to think too much of the code of bâtiment like an objective d' to test d' to reach – it is, however, the strict minimum. Même when the houses are built correctly according to the codes of bâtiment modern, the présence of black mould is, à my opinion, à a révision ex-mould mA©diator and rA©novator, mainly a product of practices of modern construction. vapour barrier and insulating out of glass fibre to help à créer perfect conditions for the mould.

  7. Get your fucking head out of the sand; this contractor has no heart & he certainly is not human. This prick takes advantage of people to satisfy his own greedy ass. Check the facts! Bernard L. Madoff stole peoples life savings & was punished with 150 years in prison.
Bud the contractor took their life savings, caused a disability & ultimately a death. How many years did this maggot get? Would you have us all feel sorry for this 60 some year old bastard while he’s fucking over his next victim?

I trusted his word with our entire life savings. I hope the law is working for the homeowners soon so this does not keep going on and so home builders can NOT get away with this. I am sorry to hear about your health issues. I pray my four children don’t post their story on here someday like yourselves.

  9. I believe in free speech & the fact you are trying to stay positive on this contractor’s job, but if you would read the court records, you would find he cut corners for his own profit. He knows better but refuses to do an honest job. This man has been involved with faulty workmanship & or shady deals multiple times on record. Please read some of the comments! After we caught him with all the mistakes on our job, he went onto another job & purposely cut the same corners. Please do not excuse him.

  12. Just refer to this contractor maggot as Bud Suck-oh or But Suck-oh, either is an appropriate name for that crooked bastard. As far as the insanity, Stratford doesn’t have the balls to kick this piece of shit to the curve, their town officials need backbone. This town is apparently a good place for scum to settle to the bottom.

Qu' it to pass some années là for the life d' invalidité of long qu' it made, then to put it in the corridor of dead ultimate death, it will make this père of family.

  20. I am building a house and during construction in a stage of rough framing it was raining a lot. My my house is dried in now, but if I go under my subfloor and look up, I see mold spots. I send out the samples to the lab. The kind I got is called.
Cladosporium, and brown hyphae, and yeasts.
I have no idea what kind of health effect this can have on me. I used Chlorine mixed with water 50/50 and sprayed it. Most of it went away. Any advice?

  21. It is important to see a specialist in environmental health. This is a highly specializied and what type of specialist is difficult to find. MNY specialist are not trained and do not know the proper diagnostic test to run. You may be able to contact your local office or division of the State Department of Environmental Health and ask if they know speciialist environment in your state. They are not common, but you will eventually find one.

  22. I’m deling with the same health problems of 9 years of exposure. After countless hours of research and learn about environmental agencies told me my daughter and I should be seen by a health professional envirnmental. They are far and few between. I live in Michigan and have been able to find 3 in the state, none of them see the children. The closest place I found for my child at Cleveland State University ofr the University of Illinois.

  23. You need to see a endocrine specialist, as well as having your home inspected by a Certified Indoor Hygenist or Certified Mold Inspector. Exposure to mold is one of the hardest things to test for because there really has not been a national standard set. But be persistant.

  24. Have your blood tested for mold antibodies by a toxicologist by occupationalenvironmental medicine. Don’t get me wrong, these mold experts, are still skeptical about the health effects of mold. Google occupational – environmental medicine in your area. Your family doctor or emergency doctors are of no help. I also am suffering from Mold. Move in with realitives until you get better. Be carful not to take the mold with you.

  25. 4. If I had not went to Minnesota I would have never survived 2004.
To be honest with you there is this huge gap between testing for mold & bacteria & medical treatment after the fact of illness. The gap in between has to be taken care of, advanced testing, research, funding, education, found causes, all leading to better medical treatments & prevention. Good luck, if I can assist you more, please leave a youtube message. Sorry about the entire book response.
