I am planning to hold a legalization of cannabis march/rally in Virginia and in need of one day special event liability insurance. There are plenty of insurance companies to insure special events, but apparently not for cannabis related programs

Call local insurance brokers in your area and see if they can find anything for you. Try brokers in the larger cities as well if you live in a smaller town as larger brokerages may have greater options.

Yeah, I think you’re going to have a darned hard time with that one.

Potheads typically aren’t the most common sense people, and if you gather a whole bunch of them, there’s PROBABLY going to be a major problem.

If you can afford to shell out in excess of $ 5,000, maybe there will be some specialty company willing to take on the risk. But you won’t get a $ 250 one day event for this type of thing. You’re going to pay through the nose. And most agents will think that you won’t buy the policy, even if they DO find the quote . .. so they won’t waste their time trying to get the quote.
