Q&A: How do I get public liability insurance for the studio I am renting for a workspace?
Question by mindlessmalk: How do I get public liability insurance for the studio I am renting for a workspace?
I am renting a studio in a large mill building. The studios for rent are for business purposes only, not for residential purposes. I need to be covered for $ 1,000,000 public liability insurance according to my lease. I have been searching around, but it seems i can only find regular renters insurance, which is mainly for renting a place where you live. I don't really know much about insurance, so any information would be helpful.
Thanks!
Nate

You can get a business policy. That is what you need to ask for. Just tell them that you are renting in the building but you need a business policy. A business policy covers your business property and liability.
Call for some quotes for a business policy. It doesn't cost that much.

Contact a property and casualty company, they are the ones that do homeowners insurance too. state farm does this i know. you can look in the phone book if you have one.
