Question by Concerned Resident: Do you know where I can get a Flood Zone Determination and Flood Insurance Quote In Ca?
If you are looking for more information on FEMA's recent flood map changes in oxnard California where can you find it? Im interested in some type of flood zone determination and a quote. My insurance agent doesn't know very much about it. How much does flood insurance cost? I have lots of questions any ideas?

There is a Farmers Insurance Agent that Specializes in Flood Zone Determinations and Flood Insurance. www.myfarmersagent.org he has alot of usefull information that is up to date. I live in Tulare Co. Visalia to be exact. We Called Dave Grigorieff who was the agent who that was recomended to me by my neighbor when FEMA remapped our community. He was able to get us a preferred rate policy for $ 348.00 the first year. It also grandfathered our property so that we arent subject to high risk rates.I have been following the changes FEMA has made to all the flood zones in California and other states as well. FEMA began re-maping the majority of the U.S. and they are placing several communities in to High Risk Flood Zones. This is forcing people to purchase flood insurance. The reason people are forced to buy is the fact that the federal government backs mortgage loans, and they also administer flood insurance. Funny isnt it??? The rates are regulated by the government as well. All companies offer the coverage at the same rate, it doesnt matter who you buy through other than the fact that you better have someone who knows what they are doing. You dont want to mess this up, it will cost you thousands. If you dont buy your policy before the new maps take effect then you will be forced to pay high risk rates which are no less than $ 1500.00 a year. And Guess what??? You cant make monthly payments!!! Its all up front paid in full for the year. My other neighbor who decided not to buy a policy got a nice letter from his lender saying that if he didnt buy in on his own than they would place it for him. Of course charging him about $ 3,000 a year and increasing his mortgage more than $ 200.00 a month. You can buy it early, so do it.
