You can get a NON-CAR owner insurance which is cheap…
Different vehicles carry different prices of INS, due to Power, Size, Cost of Vehicle etc…

you cant without a vin. look at some cars that you like and write down their vins it’s the only way as far as I know to do it. the vin is normally right near the bottom of the windshield on the drivers side.

Not a real one. But you can get an estimate, by calling a local agent, and asking for a guess, based on the type of car you’re looking at, and the coverages you think you want.

yes but you need as much information as possible. The more information you have the more accurate the quote will be…

Call your dad’s insurance agent and tell him / her about what kind of cars you are considering. For example you might tell the agent “I am considering a 2004 Mini-Cooper or a 2006 Ford Fusion” you will get a ballpark range which can be firmed up once you actually decide on which vehicle you will be buying. As an agent I quoted prices based on basic descriptions of vehicles many times.

You don’t need the VIN to get a quote, but you’ll need to know the year, make and model of the vehicle (or vehicles) you are looking at purchasing. Keep in mind it is just a quote, and once you have a specific vehicle and VIN the price could change, but this will give you a good estimate.

you don’t necessarily need the VIN for a quote, but you need the make and model and year of the car. that and your driving record is what they look at when they quote you. if you want to get a quote based on being a part time driver of your dad’s car, he can just call his own insurance company and ask how much it costs to add you.
