My insurance quote asked me if I have any felonies?

First my insurance company wanted credit history, now they want criminal history? What is happening?

They need to know if you have had any criminal record. Not all companies ask about that.

What kind of insurance are you apply for? Auto? Life? Home?

Credit history and criminal records info is asked depending on what state your in and sometimes what company your applying with.

The whole felony bit is a standard question on auto and homeowners insurance, most companies ask that.

It’s a higher risk of claim, if you’re a convicted felon.
