Brand new life insurance agent desperate to help find clients.?
I just started life New York and would like to get some advice and tips on how to find clients. I know it's a competitive market, but I hope I can get some useful ideas
First, make sure you know your stuff cold! Once you start talking to people about insurance, your new job, they will start throwing questions at you. Some of them are difficult, and some nuts at all. Know your cold things, so you can come back with a good answer, or "It's a good question and I want to make sure the other for your particular situation ... "Start talking to family and friends. Tell them about your new position and what you are able to do for people. Let them ask questions. Ask references. "If you or someone you know could use a little help in this direction, call me immediately and I'll get over it." Use stinking economy to your advantage. "I know the economy is bad, so it is more important than ever to be protected cons .... People can not afford these kinds of problems now ... "The rest is salesmanship and marketing. ads are expensive and not so effective. Can you find groups to discuss insurance and why they are going to need it (eg about to marry, new graduates, parents-to-be, new drivers), how to budget effectively to include protections they need, etc.? Your Chamber of Commerce has a monthly "networking cocktails" function? What organizations do you belong and let members know about your abilities to help them. Head of the library to read the classic books on salesmanship for lots more ideas.
