life insurance for elderly

What is the best thing to do for your elderly parent?
Is it better to invest in a good policy for life insurance who will pay several thousand dollars, or to begin investing in a sort of end of life funeral? I have no idea how I could go on it. Any suggestion of where and how to begin?
First of all, I am over 70 years, and my wife is close to that. Our parents are long gone, but we've learned from them that we need to clarify some things lined up so that our children have not be responsible for everything when we launch. We prepaid our funeral. We have opted for cremation, no frills, no cassette, no urn, no funeral service. If kids want a memorial service a few months after our death, they can handle this part. We all two life insurance policies to help kids eliminate their personal debts or to spend a life of debauchery, their choice. They are made with the elimination of our 50 years of accumulated junk. This could be fun, or maybe not. You should discuss this with your parents, and hopefully - Come to meaningful conclusions. Best of luck.
