Car Chase – Akron, Ohio (The Instructor 1983)- Part 1

Anyone familiar with Akron, Ohio should like this car chase from the movie "The Instructor". Chase stretches from Upper Deck, Waterloo Rd, Firestone Park, Downtown Akron, and the Valley. "From: donbendell I am the writer, producer, director, co-star, of the film. I directed all this and was doing some of the driving. Somebody said it was filmed in 1983, but it was not. It was shot in 1980, we did some re-shooting (the beginning of the film in Colorado in 1983) and it was released worldwide in 1983. It was sold to and shown in 164 countries and was out on Vestron video. Blessings, Don Bendell"

  7. To Harley, Thanks. The Trans-Am was owned by a buddy from Manchester named Dan Darden. The blue corvette was actually two Vettes. One was real and the other was brown, painted over w/blue for the jump. It broke in half. By agreement, I paid the owner a grand, he fixed it up, and then sold it at a handsome profit as the Vette that crashed thru the truck. By the way, I have a new western, STRONGHEART, being released worldwide Sep 7. Please read it.

  20. Yes I did and no I did not. I had zero experience in the film business and likewise with my cast and crew. I raised the money which was very little and I was functioning on about 3 hours per sleep per night for 7 weeks. I also was going through a marriage breakup. so I have mixed memories. I will tell you one thing; I felt alive! My wife now and I have been married 28 years. She was an extra on the movie and her aunt was my art director and fixed us up. I’m very much in love with my wife. Thanks

  21. Have you had a good time making it?

  22. yes 6:07 ET waterloo and main east. with the cemetery? re Holy Cross to the southeast. . and also there was a Sunoco is now When the leaves (opposite the cemetery? again), not a Sohio.
